We are a multidisciplinary clinic that specializes in the treatment of chronic pain. We specialize in back pain but we are able to treat pain of all varieties. Whether you suffer from chronic headaches, back pain, joint pain, or sciatica, we have a treatment plan for you. We can help you alleviate your pain through a multitude of modalities, ranging from medication management, injection therapy, interventional procedures, to physical and aquatic therapy. We are able to offer what no other pain management clinic can because we are a part of a larger institution with neurosurgery, MRI, physical therapy, chiropractic, spa, and fitness facilities all under one roof. We pride ourselves in making the patient experience and satisfaction our top priority.

How can we help your back pain?

First, let us explain a little bit about the make-up of your spine.

Your spine is comprised of 24 ring-like bones called Vertebrae.

The “rings” of each vertebra align to form a column in your back; which is referred to as your Spinal Column.

Your “Spinal Cord” extends from the base of your brain and runs down the length of your spinal column, ending at the top of your lumbar spine where it continues further down your spinal column as a bundle of nerves.

Your spinal cord is protected by a thin membrane called Dura Mater.

The Epidural Space is a small space that surrounds the dura mater.

Nerve Roots branch off of your spinal cord and exit your spinal column through and opening called the neural foramen. These nerves extend into your arms, back, and legs. If something is irritating your nerve roots, such as a bulging or herniated disc, pain can be felt along the entirety of the nerve.

Anesthesia Services

We understand that undergoing an injection can be a nerve-racking experience. In an effort to relieve any anxiety and discomfort, we have an on-duty certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) to provide sedation for almost every procedure.

What We Do

Medication Management

We have 2 physicians and 1 nurse practitioner who can manage your pain with both prescription and non-prescription methods. Together with your physician, we will determine a medication regimen that appropriately manages your pain. It is our primary goal to get you out of pain and do so as effectively as possible while keeping you safe. Therefore, we follow strict federal and state guidelines in our prescribing practices and each patient is subject to a urine drug screen (UDS) at each visit. The UDS is explained further on the “Narcotic Agreement and UDS” tab at the top of the page.

Transforaminal Epidural Steroid Injections

A diagnostic and therapeutic injection that offers pain relief by targeting specific nerve roots that if damaged can cause radiating or shooting pain down an extremity

Epidural Steriod Injection

A diagnostic and therapeutic injection of local anesthetic and steroid into the epidural space of your neck and/or back to alleviate pain in your neck, arms, back, and legs.

Facet Blocks

A facet is a joint between two vertebrae. These joints can become arthritic and cause localized back pain. Pain relief can be brought about by performing a facet block, which is an injection of local anesthetic and/or steroid into these joints.

Rhizotomy / Radio Frequency Ablation

Commonly referred to as an RFA, is a therapeutic procedure that uses radiofrequency waves to desensitize the nerve and stop the transmission of pain signals.

Botox Injections

Deep wrinkles form around the eyes and forehead over time due to muscle movement. Botox is FDA approved to reduce  muscle activity at injection site, working to smooth out those fine lines.

Trigger Point Injections

A trigger point is a focal area of muscle spasm that can be relieved by injecting a local anesthetic and/or an anti-inflammatory directly into the trigger point.

Intra-Articular Joint Injection (Hip/Knee/Shoulder)

If you suffer from pain joint pain, such as your shoulder, hip, or knee, we are able to injection medication directly into the joint to help alleviate your pain. There are numerous medications we can inject, including anesthetics, steroids, and a specialized medication specifically formulated for joint pain called sodium hyaluronate.

A diagnostic procedure used to identify if a specific intervertebral disc is the source of your back pain.

Treatment for Shingles

There is no cure for shingles, but treatment may shorten the length of illness and prevent complications. Treatment options include:

  • Antiviral medicines to reduce the pain and duration of shingles.
  • Pain medicines, antidepressants, and topical creams to relieve long-term pain.

More Information

Kyphoplasty:  Your vertebral body can become fractured and compressed as a result of trauma, osteoporosis, and certain cancers.  In this case, we can relieve your pain by performing a kyphoplasty which stabilizes the fracture by injecting a cement like substance and restores some or all of the height loss due to the compression fracture.

Spinal Cord Stimulator

Spinal Cord Stimulator:  If you suffer from chronic, intractable pain, a spinal cord stimulator might be an option for you.  A spinal cord stimulator (SCS) sends signals to mask your pain signal from reaching your brain.
