Occupational Therapy/Certified Hand Therapy

Occupational Therapy is a healthcare profession that helps individuals regain maximum function after injury or illness that has led to some degree of physical or mental impairment affecting their ability to participate in normal activities of daily living. They help patients develop, recover, improve, as well as maintain the skills needed for daily living and working. Occupational therapists can work with a variety of patients complaints, including, but not limited to, pain management patients, neuro-recovery patients, orthopedic patients, ergonomics, mental health patients, community reintegration patients, group therapy patients, and can assess patients hoping to return to work. OT helps patients regain independence and teach modifications or techniques to help an individual become as independent as possible in their activities of daily living.
Sakina Bohra, OTD, CHT is a certified hand therapist practicing for over 20 years. She is capable of evaluating any diagnosis between the shoulder to the fingertips. She often sees post-operative cases ranging from carpal tunnel syndrome to rotator cuff repairs.
